Erika Cook, MA, NCC, LPC
Erika graduated from Liberty University with a BS in Psychology: Counseling and Clinical Research, and from Messiah College with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has a heart for helping others, having spent significant time working with adults in a psychiatric inpatient facility, as well as with dual-diagnosis and substance abuse clients. Working and volunteering in several other social environments has provided her with opportunities to serve and support others.
Erika’s heart for helping others has been shaped by her own faith. She hopes to assist clients in dealing with life’s difficulties, while allowing them to explore God’s love and plan for them. She hopes to provide clients with a safe place where they can open up and experience aspects of healing. Common issues might include areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, substance abuse, and adjustments to life changes.
Erika’s counseling approach utilizes aspects of a relational, client-centered therapy, while integrating more structured approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. She often finds it beneficial to integrate aspects of faith, prayer, and Biblical exploration if the client is open to this.
Erika has her Pennsylvania counseling license and is currently seeing clients in our Carlisle office.
In her free time she enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with family.
Erika works with teens and adults to assist in their personal, spiritual, and emotional healing and growth.
