Carlisle
Corryn Vento, MA, LPC, NCC
Corryn graduated summa cum laude from Messiah College with a B.S. in Biopsychology with a minor in Counseling. She subsequently obtained a M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah College’s esteemed graduate program. During both of these educational experiences, Corryn was able to incorporate her faith and grow as a Christian while pursuing these degrees. She was licensed in 2022 as a professional counselor recognized by the Pennsylvania State Board.
Her work history began with serving 5 years at Paxton Ministries, a non-profit personal care home for adults in need. The residents at Paxton struggle with significant mental health concerns, and it was there that Corryn developed her passion for working in this field. She feels as though she was given the opportunity to integrate her faith in her work while at Paxton, and that she learned how to see beyond an individual’s diagnoses because of this spiritual and uplifting environment. More recently, Corryn worked as a family-based mobile therapist. During this experience, Corryn was utilizing her skills to support high-risk children/adolescents, parents, and families with the ultimate goals of healing broken relationships and improving familial communication.
Corryn’s counseling style is a blend of person-centered and solutions-focused brief therapy. This is a strengths-based approach to counseling, for she believes that her clients are the experts on their own stories. She has also received training in eco-systemic structural family therapy during her time as a mobile therapist, as well as trauma-informed care. Above all, Corryn views her clients as God’s perfectly designed creations and she cares deeply about the people she encounters each day.
Corryn most enjoys working with adolescent and adult clients one-on-one to support and encourage them to become the best version of themselves.
